Outline The Benefits of Drinking Water



A.     Maintaining body fluids balance
·         Water in body comes from liquid and food.
·         Body fluid is lost through urine, sweating, respiration, and in feces.
·         Dehydration can cause headaches, tiredness and loss of concentration.
B.     Controlling calories
·         Water consumption increases metabolic rate.
·         40% of the increase in calorie burning is caused by the body's attempt to heat the ingested water.
·         Drinking more water prevents overeating and makes people less hungry because it helps filling stomach.
C.     Energizing muscles
·         Drinking water is important for proper hydration of muscles during exercise.
·         Water consumption makes muscles appear bigger because water molecules are used in the process of rebuilding torn muscle fibers after a workout.
·         Muscle performance suffers when the body is dehydrated.
D.    Keeping healthy skin
·         Getting enough amount of water prevents skin turning to be dry, tight, and flaky.
·         Dry skin is prone to wrinkle.
·         A variety of structures in the skin that support collagen require water to work effectively.
E.     Helping the kidney
·         Dehydration makes it difficult for kidney to excrete metabolic waste through producing urine.
·         Drinking a lot of water leads to frequent urination which prevents kidney stones.
·         Drinking more fluids lowers risk of chronic kidney disease.
