Plastic Bags

In these modern day, plastic is the most common material used to make a lot things to help human activity. Some people believe that plastic is the most useful material. Plastic can be formed into many shapes, size, and patterns. For daily activity, we can use plastic to carry our groceries. But, a lot of people believe that plastic has dangerous substances that can threat the environment because it is not degradable. This different of thought bring us to a debate of using free plastic to carry groceries.

As we know, in Indonesia, the government has legalize the policy of paid plastic bag for groceries. Furthermore, many cities in Indonesia has forbid the use of plastic bags in modern grocery store. The government’s intention to legalize the policy is to decreasing the amount of plastic waste in Indonesia. The government believe that it can save environment and prevent disasters such as flood.

In the same thought, some people who care about the environment support this policy. They assumed that plastic is dangerous even when they are burnt. The substances in plastic can vaporized into air and cause air pollution. Another reason why they forbid plastic is because plastic take a long time to be degraded.

In the contrary, a lot of people disagree about the policy of paid plastic bags and more the policy of erasing plastic bags in modern grocery store. It is because they believe that plastic bags is the most practical and efficient way to carry their groceries. They also said that we can use fast degradable  plastic bags that are not made of whole plastic.

In conclusion, the debate of using plastic bags to carry groceries still emerge among the civilization. The most wise way is to use plastic properly and stop waste plastic in the wrong place.
