The number of
sexual violence are increasing nowadays, most of the victims are children and
youth. Almost every victims of sexual violence have a deep trauma from the
violence that they have got. Most people are thinking that the punishment the
suspects get are not compatible from what they have done. People want the
suspects are being emasculated, but there are many pro and contra about the emasculation
punishment.
There are two
kinds of emasculation, the first is physically emasculation, and the second one
is chemically emasculation. Physically emasculation is emasculation process is
more emphasized to the operation by removing the testicle. Chemically emasculation
is the emasculation process by injecting chemicals which can make someone lost
their sexual desire. Chemically emasculation is chosen as the alternative punishment
for the sexual violence suspects while the physically emasculation is still
considered as sadistic.
As
against from emasculation punishment, many experts said that emasculation is
not effective for the suspects and it can violates human rights. Experts said
that the suspects have problem with their mind or psychology, instead of giving
them emasculation, they were better directed to get rehabilitation rather than
being emasculated. Another reason is because the suspects can be more aggressive
when they got the emasculation.
In
contrast, many experts also said that emasculation is the right punishment for
the suspects of sexual violence. Emasculation punishment is considered as the
right punishment to make the suspects feel wary about what they have done. Other
experts hope there would be another extra punishment for sexual violence
suspects. This punishment is expected to reduce the cases of sexual violence.
In
conclusion, sexual violence is considered as extraordinary crime that happened
around us, which need affirmative action and also extraordinary law enforcement. No matter what the
punishment is, it must be can make the suspects feel wary and can reduce number
of sexual violence.
